Writing and Lecturing

I write both non-fiction and fiction, including my first book with the University of Pennsylvania Press, entitled Spiritual Socialists (October 2019).

 

My reviews and essays have appeared in journals such as Religion & American Culture and the Journal of American History, as well as popular publications like Dissent, The LA Review of Books, Aeon, Sojourners, The Washington Post, and No Depression magazines. I teach history in Wisconsin, and I am available to give talks at libraries, historical societies, and universities.  Please contact me if you would like to commission a lecture or article.
